    Hi,

My name is jason and i was just referred to this forum. I have a '49 mercury coupe that i've had almost 2 years. I have alot of work to do to her and hope that i can learn alot from all of you. I attached a few pics of what she looks like, as of this past fall. I have an idea of what i'm going to be doing to my car, but would like some suggestions on what you'd recommend me doing to her. So far, i've sanded down the surface rust and old paint and primed and painted her, painted the rims red, added new cooper whitewall, put on a louvered hood, put on a stainless '49 grill and unfroze all (4) drums (that wasn't fun at all). I also have quite a few items that are not installed, such as: front inner fenders, battery tray, mirrors, moons, original '49 outside door handles, spears, trunk emblem w/ lock, door locks w/ keys and a custom interior (which is for sale). Let me know what you think so far?

    Jason

Welcome Jason. Im building a 49 as well. Are you planning on doing a mild custom with your merc? Like it so far. I'd drop her in the weeds, lose the door handles, emblems etc. and remove the center bar on the grill to start.
