Front license plate for my '34

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by The Hot Rod Grille, Jun 19, 2010.

  1. I've been looking for a specific front license plate for my '34 Coupe for quite a while (WV doesn't require a front registration plate). Finally located one from a plate collector in Florida and it arrived a few days ago. These were manufactured in the West Virginia State Prison by inmates in 1956 using the same 4 1/2 inch x 12 inch "blanks" that were used for the regular numbered plates. They were called "booster" plates and were sold by civic groups such as the Lions club as fundraisers. What do you think of it on the front of a hotrod (kind of like thumbing your nose at the devil)?

Isn't it supposed to be green and white?

I'd leave it off if the car is a hot rod. Don't run any sort of plate on the front.
