Some lowlife stole my enclosed cargo trailer from my yard today while I was at work. The receiver lock didn't stop them. It's a 2007 CargoMate 12'x 6' single axle.Silver in color with a drop down rear gate. White spoke wheels.Washington license # 1547TX. keep your eyes open please. Thanks guys, Tim
That ****s. Depending on the type of lock, a lot of the reciever locks have thier own insurance when you buy thier locks. Might be worth looking into.
Guy here in the city has one on his lot and not only is it chained, it sits on a jackstand on one side with the wheel taken off. Maybe that's what we all need to do, too.
I posted this on another "Stolen Car and Trailer" post a few weeks ago from a seminar put on by the local sherrif's ***ociation and given by an ex-car/trailer thief.... * Most trailers are stolen using the safety chains. Wrap them around the ball and they drive off.....Gotta lock the safety chains tightly. * Paint your last name up on top of the trailer in big letters.....at least it can be seen from the air and most thieves are idiots and won't look up there. * If the trailer is to set still for a while......remove the lug nuts from the wheels on one side of the trailer. Wheels will remain on until moved and then fall off when attempted to move. * If the trailer has an electric tongue jack, extend it out all the way and disconnect the power....I have a cut-off switch like on my race car that is hidden. Just makes more stuff to overcome to steal the trailer. * If you leave your truck and trailer parked. Take the vital engine running fuses out of the fuse block.....I take my ignition and fuel pump fuse out of my diesel while I am at a Hotel while out on the road.
Man too much of this **** happening lately!!! I will keep my eyes open, sorry man, just palin ****s some dirtbags steal things you work your *** off for!!! JOKER JASON.
Thanks Vein and Moses. Lucky 3 those are great tips, I agree I think they wrapped the safety chains around the ball. Some guys asked me for a photo, here it is...
I lost my s10 in the jackson street park and ride a few years back. I'll be in the tacoma area tomorrow on a job I'll keep my eyes peeled!!
tim thats a drag and i will put the word out through the g****vine. call all the tow yards with all the info (including pictures) on your trailer because their is a good chance it will be dumped then impounded. was it empty? if not list some of the contents.
Puttin' the word out Tim. Maybe we can get lucky & find it. Sure had fun towing that thing to HAN last summer.
Will be on the lookout in Puyallup/Graham. Time for a surveillance camera. A couple of the suggestions by Lucky3 are good to keep in mind.
Tim, that just ****s, I will keep my eyes open in Tacoma. I had a fellow co-worker get a trailer stolen from his drive way in Sumner( it was full of his tools and quarter midget racers when they raced) a while back also. Whats with people these days.
