This Looks Like My Kind Of Place

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by drjones96, Jun 18, 2010.

  1. Howdy, I've run into this forum a few times when doing searches for stuff and it seems like a pretty dang cool place to be.

I started building hot rods with my old man back in about 1990 when I was about 11 years old. My first one (which I still own) was a 1929 Model A Pickup. I'll try to find some pics of it to scan. Surprisingly I don't have any digital images.

Below is a picture of me and my bride posing with a fresh creation from my old man's shop. He built it for a friend of his and we borrowed it as a prop for my wedding photos (this is about 7 yrs ago). It's a 31 coupe minus the roof :) . After he built this he built a yellow one just like it for himself.

He's also got a '28 Sedan Delivery in the works. Should be pretty special when it's done.

  11. OK I found some digital photos of my '29.

Has been collecting dust for a while but I think we're getting ready to roll it out for a 'refresh'.

    Love the 29' very cool.

  13. I'm waiting for someone to ask the question about the cab: "WTH is that?"

  14. Cut down sedan is my guess....

  15. I guess I forget what crowd this is. You guys have prolly seen it all. Yeah it's a '29 2dr sedan we cut down and made a cab.

Bed is all sheet metal and square tubing. Frame is also just square tubing.

  16. Some more pics I found...

  18. Here's a pic of my dad's roadster coupe he built. It's a lot like the one in the opening post and was built at about the same time. It's a 30'-31' coupe that he cut the top off of to make a roadster. Has a 454 chevy in it.

Also pics of his race car (he's 69 years old and still likes to tear it up every now and then). The first one is my son sitting in it with him standing next to it.

  19. And this is the project that doesn't ever seem to end. It need upholstery and some AC parts.....and then it's a running car. But my dad seems to not be able to focus on it for some reason and keeps working on other things.
