A friend from work has to go to San Diego for eight weeks and was wondering what was available for Swap Meets and car shows mid July through September?
    Thanks

There is a great Cruise night every Friday on Grand Ave. in Escondido. It is 30 miles N. of SD on the I -15. Cruisin' Grand, goes from about 5PM to 9PM.

    USS Midway Museum
    Point Loma Lighthouse/Cabrillo National Monument
    Lucha Libre Taco Shop
El Cajon Wednesday Night Car Cruise...excellent time. Eat at the downtown cafe on the sidewalk. Great fish tacos
Take the ferry boat over to Coronado for great views. Farmers Market every Tuesday I believe. Check out the hotel del coronado
    Drive up to La Jolla....paradise!
Go watch the surfers at OB. Hodad's is fun for a burger but the tourists all go there now so the lines even on weeknights are ridiculous. Great shakes though!
Gaslamp is cool. Good eats, bars etc

    Plenty to do!

It may sound corny but Balboa Park is a world class Zoo, you can spend a day there easy.
