How ya been holmes??....Sorry i didnt respond to the last pm...just been distant here a little bit. You already know i love this car & what you are doing with it... but you should post up the pics of the chassis you sent me. The car is going to be incredible when its done & cant wait to see it get there...As for mine, I did however order a bunch of stuff it needed & its heading out to get the trunk channel fixed tentively next week. I'll start the build thread once it gets back. I'm still laughing at the Radars man esp cause you know i have the 14x7 rev for mine. Killer wheel combo!! I wanted something different wich we talked about but until i rechrome them i'm putting chrome steels with goldline tires on for the time being. I'll call you this weekend to square up man!! Looking good & keep up the work...I'll be checkin it for added inspiration!! :)

Oh its about 10k not including buying the car and I need add some duckets for a few parts I bought from Brandy. So maybe 13k now. But bucks don't matterwhen its your dream car. But I do take my time and always look for a deal rather then just open a catalog and start spending. Friend of mine does that and had 16k into a 71 el camino, turned around and sold it for 9k.........................

I feel 58 always has to have all the chrome, that what makes a 58. BUT my plan is to remove the trunk shield and V emblems, the front fender ornaments and the front fender louver trim. Any input on that?

Well 68 redlines had clear and blue windows, but I never saw one with blue interior, they were either white or black. Then again no 67/68 redline hot wheel was black, but Im not gonna take it to that extreme

Sorry...a bit off subject, but I just thought this was a masterpiece. It was at a car show that I entered this Past Saturday. '57 front, '60 rear and '58 doors.

Gun metal grey is not silver, not black and has just as much candy like quality as you like. Guys are so primary: red, yellow, blue, black.....

Need I say more? Subtle is the key, not over done and gaudy.

Gun metal grey is soooo overdone.....open up ANY automotive magazine (hotrod/mini trucks, Vw...Motortrend...doesn't matter) in the within past 10 years.....or drive by any new car dealership....zzzzzzzzzzz....
A "proper" candy paint job isn't gaudy.....
But WTF do I know....I'd personnally paint the fucker pink metalflake with purple panels....haha

    Subtle is the word.
For instance, the basic difference between "medium metallic gray" and Corvette Nassau Blue is some, well, a lot of added blue and some red pigment, (plus a few other pigment quantity adjustments.)

Blah blah blah, pink, purple, corvettes.....actually I know a vette like that.

I'll fire up the laptop and post the color I'm after. Vdub, thing, it, my mothers avalanche....book, mag, news paper, toilet roll.....still not common on a 58 chevy.

Well you know what they say PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Words don't color a car, so start throwing some options up instead of letting your alligator mouth overload your jay bird ass.

I'm sure you're capable of doing that from your smart phone whilst sitting in your Lexus.:p

Thanks Royal, seems some debate on color. Don't get me wrong I love black, my issue is going to a show and there's another one. Like I said 58 usually black, red, or white. Kinda why I love primer, keeps people guessing and you never have to commit. Maybe someone could Photoshop some different stuff

    How 'bout an Aztec Gold?
Or an Alligator Green....maybe a blue? Jaybirds are blue aren't they???;)

Put up or shut up???? Really????

    Pssttt....I custom paint shit....:p

Satin.....any color will be bitchin' (well, except a grey hue)....ya just don't see many '58 Impala's in the 1st place....so just paint 'er what YOU want....the wheels and tires will set 'er off from the others IF ya come across another in the same color....:D
