I registered a few years back but I'm not on message boards all that much in general but I did like to poke in here for ideas and innovations. To try and sum it up, I'm not overly technically savvy. My father was an engineer for GM but I didn't get a lot of hands-on training once I started showing interest in cars (and I was perpetually poor as a young adult). I was primarily into muscle cars from my late teens to mid-20's (I still miss my blown '68 Camaro RS). I don't kiss butt and always prefer to earn my way so what little knowledge I do have, I've had to learn on my own (and still learning). I don't play well with a lot of others because too many people are judgmental and lose the spirit of the car/motorcycle culture (or whatever you want to call it). If it's got a motor and the owner/builder like it, that's all that matters. If it's not my style, it's no concern of mine unless my name is on the title. So now I'm in my mid-30's, can't weld a lick and have unsuccessfully used an english wheel a couple times but on the bright side, I can solder like a pro (you can thank the US Military for training me well on that). I've always been more of an idea/concept guy. Although I'm in process of selling my '60 Chevy, I'll always have an infinity for traditional rods and customs. My primary focus is my motorcycle now (and hoping to build one someday). I have no doubt that I'll learn some tricks and see some awesome stuff so I'll thank the bulk of you in advance for doing so.
I like your attitude, might rub some the wrong way, not me. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Arkansas City, KS. firstnomad
Thanks nomad. I've kinda been a "lone wolf" but the majority of friends I have are hot rod/motorcycle/scooter trash. I'm too old to coddle egos and I'd rather be told something straight up and constructive so that's what I offer. In the end, I just want to see some cool vehicles, try to help where I can, listen to some good music and indulge in shenanigans with friends.
