I have the same exhaust manifolds and I want to run the wires exactly like in this picture What cars came stock with this manifold or what kind of spark plug wires to buy? My engine has the HEI distributor.
MSD makes wire sets with long enough wires to route the way you want. You cut to length and crimp on distributor end. Can't say I recommend tie wrapping any plug wires together though. Even the best wires should have a little seperation.
I dont think it matters really. They probably just bought a set of wires and cut them theirself, instead of buying the typical universal type. They may have bought 2 sets too... They did a nice clean job laying the wires though...I prefer my wires to be seen on top. But with those manifolds, that looks like the way to go though...
isn't that close to the stock routing for early sbc's?? was thinking of routing my 283 wires similar. I agree on the tie wrapping being a bad idea though. misfires are bad with hi energy ignitions. IMO those plug ends look way too new on that engine.
Buying performance wire by the spool may be a good idea for you. I am in agreement that the tie wrap is a poor idea especially for the HEI.
