i have been in the shop 10 hr's a day for a week and have the floorboard almost finished..fill the ****on hole welds..and this thing will carry a elephant..got the shift kit, servo, ac***ulator's in the ****** so should have the engine back in by next weekend i hope...then it's the monotony of wiring,a/c, heater, gauges maybe fire it up ..then back on tilt front end and more body work..then finish the rack and pinion hyd lines powerbrake lines and fuel lines and ..and ... and....but hope to get to california with it by summer's end..:)

good looking job you did there...i did mine with what rack i had laying around..with the 1/2 plate i used i dont think it will fall off. and the angles all seem to be good..im just wondering about hyd. pressure differences using a ford explorer rack and a gm diesel steering-brake pump i couldnt find any specifications to go by... will know here in a few weeks how it really does in real life...:)

  4. Looking great . . . should be one fine ride when you're done. What is the engine/****** combination you're putting in it?

hi..not sure if its hamb friendly or not this thing is a beast of a hot-rod..ha ha ha ha ha ..but i plan on using it to haul my cars to shows and swap meets so i am using a modified 6.5 gm turbo diesel and modified 700r4 trans..and havent got it built yet but am working on a ford 9" (3.50 gears) in the rear unless something better comes up..

You can purchase an adjustable pressure control to fit into your power steering pressure line.
Works just like a hydraulic brake proportioning valve.
I got mine from Speedway parts, should help get the steering just nice.

Yeah, me too...I have a GM rack and a Ford pump.
I thought about installing a Hydroboost...Maybe later on down the road along with some airbags.
If you find out any pressure stats, please let me know, Steve

got a little more done..fired up the engine just for the fun of it..will have to make a few changes it is overfueling so will put on one of my other injection pumps..and use this one on the other engine i am building for later use..got a ford 9" out and am getting it ready to make the changes to install in the caddy..looking for some higher gear ratio's in some of my other trucks..would anyone know what the highest gear ratio ford put in their trucks..i have a 79 model out back that has a big block automatic i need to check the ratio on once this heat lets up a little..got a complete front end rebuilt kit and will dis***emble the suspension and put all the new parts in i was going to try to get away with reusing some of the old parts but for the price it was better to just get the complete kit for it..will need to carry the ford spindles down and get them machined to fit the cadillac king pins..then i should be done with that part..still working on under dash wiring and a/c,heat and wiper modifications..then will start the custom dash build

well havent updated this in awhile..i have got some more done as far as body work goes..replaced the door bottoms then built a custom dash, didnt want to cut up a perfect 46 caddy dash that someone else may need just to put in the 11 gauges i want to use ..cut out the rest of the old floorboards the other day replaced both the old front shocks that leaked with rebuilt ones (they aint cheap) have the spindles resized and installed.. looking thru my parts to find 2 good condition ford truck rotors then can finally get the front wheels back on..started on the 9" ford rear housing need to modify the spring hangers on the frame a bit to get it in.. other than that i have been too busy to get much done..will post a few new pics
