Hey Y'all! Just did the first full p*** in my new (old) F.E.D. Happened at the Steel Valley Nationals in Salem, Ohio... Didn't lift... Rode out the wheelie and saved the ch***is with a 9.45 at 148 mph... Followed it up with a wheelie-less 8.86 at 151... Only thing more fun than the wheelie was pullin' the chute! ha ha ha! Thanks for lettin' me be "hokey" and post this... It's the little things!
Mark, welcome to the club, about the most fun that you can have with your clothes on. My next goal is 200 mph--I have been there as I have been running 180 at the 660 clocks but with my car nosing over I have been off the power at the finish line and my best official speed is 192 mph (Bowling Green last Sunday after a pedal job to get it back in the middle of the lane)). Congrat's Mark !!................Are you going next weekend to Norwalk for the G***er race ?.....We may get cooler air next weekend but that can change...and you know how that works around here in NE Ohio..........Littleman
Thats definitely three wheels up! I'm with "The Arizona Old Crow", I'd blow it up and hang it over my bed. That is super *****in pic! Congrats!
Hey Mark, welcome to the Hamb....sorry I missed the first p***... I was on the fence for this event and then had some health issues during the week, so I p***ed to get better for next weekend's G***er Reunion. Looks like you had a great time. see you at Summit Motorsports Park this weekend? Don
Great 1st run I would say. Also nice time on 2nd p*** too.. Now, can someone post the picture? It says it is corrupted or something when I try to open it. I wanna see, I wanna see too... Edit: I went to Nolans site and saw picture. Theres definently light under the rear tire. No damage is always good too...
thanks for all the good words, everyone! looking for someone who may have been there and got vids... since it was my first p***, i was too nervous to search around for someone to run camera... i did get someone to shoot the 2nd p*** which was a staging disaster... poor guy i was racing's respirator started filling with alcohol and he had to get out. anyway, i've got a series on my stations web site called "Nolan's Garage" with the latest stuff... http://www.wkyc.com/life/programming/shows/mornings/nolan.aspx
Good piece of driving if the front wheels stayed round . Sling shots can be very interesting on the launch , what did the car 60ft ? Maybe a wheelie bar would help so the front end doesn't get smashed ,a friend very nearly did with his digger when they forgot to mount them in a rush for staging. The car stood almost straight up but he like you managed to feather it out and touch down without too much damage. But for the record those pictures are great! Rob.
Hope someone shows up with a video. Your a Wild*** Anchorman NOLAN.... was fun standing right there. Mark
That's an awesome photo, especially since it was your first run! You're more than OK in my book. At least you don't have to worry about wearin out the front tires.
