This is a scam... They do this with horse sales as well. Usually, the deal is the send you a certified check for the price of the car and the shipping. Then, tell you you MUST ship the car THE DAY you get the check. The line is something like "A certified check is as good as cash". So, you get the check, put it in the bank. Most banks allow a portion of a certified check to be liquid immediately, so it looks like it's all on the up and up. Then, you take the car where ever they "arrainged" the shipping, pay the shipper yourself (in theory, with the money from the "check") AND give the agent their commission, out of the sales price and out of your pocket. 10%, 15%, whatever was "agreed" on. Then, a week later, the bank calls to tell you the check was a fake. There are variations on it, sometimes there's no commission or whathaveyou. Usually, the "shipper" is a fake, the VIN gets swapped and the car is sold again in the US. This is also why the letter mentions "i'll like this transaction to be kept in utmost trust.I hope you can understand." It's a car, not a mail order bride, why the secrecy? If you checked into it, or asked for opinions, you would find out it was a fake... A friend of mine was contacted with an identical offer not a week ago. I can't believe you brought it up now while it was still fresh in my mind! His deal was a horse, not a car, but the same thing. He called telling me how excited he was and how it felt too good to be true. Thank the stars he called!! I hated to tell him it was a scam, but was glad he didn't send his horse to "Europe". ~ Christiana
yes it is, ive had them contact myself and some friends on cars we had for sale, do not deal with them and for sure send no money or credit info!!!!
Definatly a scam. Kinda like the ones where they send you a check or whatever for more than your asking and then ask you to send the difference back and by the time you send it and there check goes through you pay them.

I get these all the time since I always have stuff up for sale.

if I got one of those emails, I'd accept the cashiers check and tell them I just pulled a scam and there is no car for sale. Then they what would they say? I wonder the confusion on their end

On a side note. if u say do not contact me u scamming nigerian basturds in your ebay add. they wont! its great. i listed one car before the new year and didnt say that. 80000 scam emails later it was sold. next car sold friday. with said comment. and the whole auction was scammer free! So if they know u know then they wont bother you its great! ok carry on with the scam talk. Bryan
Notice there is not a single specific reference to whatever it is you may have or had for sale. This is a mass mailing. Can you imagine how many of these have to be sent before they find someone to fall for it? Yhis way they don't have to spend time tailoring each letter. There is a delete key on your computer for a reason.
I like to lead them on sometimes. I act all happy and excited and make them think they have a fish on. Email them back and forth a few times then ignore them for a while and let the tone get a little less friendly. Then feed them a crock like how your parents were just killed in the collapse of a 3rd story balcony when too many people came to a hot tub orgy. It can be quite entertaining.

I wonder the confusion on their end [/ QUOTE ] and the problem with that is to give out ones adress unless you got an box or something, of course its fun to waste their time but you never know whom you deal with, in the othercase maybe they don't either... they sure do deserve severe punishment
