Me and my girl went to pick this baby up for about 6 months ago. It's in really good shape. I need to cut the coils some more. It's getting a shiny white pearl paint job & a set of Supremes, then we're done. The day we picked her up: As she sits now:
wow thats a beauty of T-Bird.... bet she gets some looks from guys when shes drivin it... i know i would give her the Thumbs Up... sorry if that sounds rude but i love a gal that drives a nice hot rod thats done up right
Nice! How much of the coil did you cut? One loop? I have one that's awaiting that same treatment and wondering how much to cut.
That is a nice ride, I am looking at a 62 convertible right now white with red interior 55,000 original miles. If I get it, thats the car we are taking on vacation this year
Not much of an update, it's not even an interesting picture BUT this is how the Thunderbird sits now, waiting for her new paint job. We're gonna drop her of at the paint shop this Saturday.
Hmmm I've always liked these cars....due to the body lines being like they are have you thought abut a two tone? Gloss pearl on the bottom and a darker contrast color on the top?
We have talked about some silver (or darker) flake on the roof but she wants it all white...just like my wagon but shiny
nice lookin ride. one of my favorites is the one OZ Kustoms did. It was in Rod and Kulture within the last year or 2. I think it was a red color with gold leaf for the pin striping. keep the pics coming.
Aight.....how bout the same color throughout BUT some heavy flake on top? Thats just an aweful lot of white.... needs somethin to break it up a smidge (my opinion....which dont mean squat)
If you are using NEW coils up front,DO NOT cut more than 1 1/2 coils. Here is my '61 "Before and After"... They were brand new coils and I cut off 1 1/2. You can see what a difference it made, and I haven't bottomed out yet. I also have the hubcaps back on.
Flake would have been cool, but she wants it all white and i know she wont change her mind. She keeps telling me how clean and nice my all white 59 wagon looks My friend cut 1 1/2 coils and that was too much, i cut 1 coil and that was too little. I'm gonna cut another 1/4 this weekend...i rather cut it two or three times and get the desired height than cut too much one time. Thanks fot the input T_Bird Guy & 61Bird, show me more pictures of your Thunderbirds, please.
