Here are a few pics from the Nostalgia Nationals held this weekend at Shakespeare county raceway here in the UK. It was a great event with blistering weather (for a change). I could have taken a load more pictures but it was far too hot to walk around snapping away. First are a few of the Flathead Meltdown competitors. I took part in my 32 truck. My truck kicking back with Neal's sport coupe. Neal Bennetts (biggles) Batten special. Set quickest e.t. and dipped into the 14's! Nathan's (nifty) fresh out coupe won the event. Well done fella. Oh and if you haven't checked the build thread out, do so it's killer. Pete's (nutrocker) now fendered A roadster. The specials of Odgie and Miss P. Becky's (daisyduke) T roadster pick up. Mart's (Mart) 'Ol rusty' A roadster. A couple of the other entries. I believe we had a 16 car field. A few race cars for you. A few might recognise this one. And finally here is a clip onboard as me and Mart face off in a 21 stud grudge match. Knowing he had a good 3 seconds advantage I tried to throw him by flipping the bird at him as we pulled round to stage. It didn't work! He trounced me. If you look closely as we pull off at the end you can see him repaying the gesture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeFayqRsuGg Oh and I got to meet the original builder of my truck. Steve from Limeworks was over in the homeland visiting relatives and decided to check the show out. It was nice to bump into him and get his approval of the changes I have made to the truck. Cheers mate.
Nice pics Gav, it was a rather good weekend looking forward to the next one. I even managed a personal best again this morning.
Well done Becky. There were quite a few PB's. Neal into the 14's, Nathan in the 16's and Mart squeezing a 17 out of his stock 21 stud. Oh and I got into the 20's!
Can i add some to your post Gav if a start with one of yours? Ok thanks! Check out the flathead helmet... Havin fun,you betcha!
Nice pics Chris. Good to keep them all in one place. Someone had to explain Neal's 'flathead' helmet to me. ha ha
Phenomenal pics, guys. I'm in awe of these cars, especially the fendered A roadster with deuce shell.
Star of the weekend,Ellie (nutrocker's daughter) out on track for the first time in her 'tot rod Topolino',40mph over the 1/8th...well done Ellie!
