I'm building a 331 Hemi for my A Coupe project, was wondering if 3 Holley 94's will be enough for the Hemi? How much horsepower can 3 94's support? I'm not looking for max horsepower probably a basic build with a little bump in compression and a fairly choppy cam. I have a Lake Headers 3x2 log I haven't welded it up yet and don't want to waste time if I cant use it.

Well a lot of guys are running only the center two carbs on their 6x2's, so 3 is probably enough for street driving. You really will be at only 450cfm which is under a single 1502 Edelbrock 4bbl if that gives you an idea. I think you'll definitely be fine with three but you might find that if you engine is even the least bit "hot" it'll really starve itself under full throttle.

My 6x2 runs on center two like I said and through a progressive style linkage the remaining 4 kick in a 3/4 throttle. Depending how hot I get the motor I might switch over to direct linkage so all six are firing at the same time.

You'd probably want to run non progressive, or run the outside 2 non progressive & the center 1 progressive.

HP is not the ????? it's CFMs verse CIs. A basic formula is 1.5 CFMs to 1 CI..Then you add other variables, ignition, exhaust..
    This is my thinking..

1 typical formula says 529 CFM, 3 94s would be somewhere around 460 CFM. But....a 351C calls for 560 CFM, the stock 2 bl carb is rated @ only 350 CFM, but they tend to run well anyway.

Thank's for the input, I'm not looking for all out performance, just a choppy idle and something that I can run 80 mph or so on the interstate.

What about 2110's, are they the same size as a 7rt and do they flow much better? Thanks

I was under the impression 94's were more like 160-170 CFM and 97 were around 150. Even so, I think you should be just fine with 3 on the street.

Yeah, that's basicly why I said earlier about running nonprogressive or the end 2 nonprogressive. Running on the center with the ends progressive is way under carbed on just the center, unless the end ones kick in pretty fast.

If you start running primaries and secondaries with them 94s, don't forget about the power valves on the secondaries..
I would run all three, no progression..

Need an engineering degree to hook up the linkage on the 6X2's.

I am running three holleys's but i am using the larger y-block ones 1" out sides and 1 1\16 middle. Progressive i figured at almost 500 cfm - there are different 1 1\16 carbs though - used the one with the 94 size base. Used a vintage speed kit looks real good havnt run it yet .
