I need to have 2 speed wipers on the 32 roadster to get it legal I have a so-cal screen any ideas I am thinking of some I saw on the net somewhere that clamp on so I can take em off when I don't need them ( any time its not warrent of fitness inspection time )

Any one point me to a good web site where I can buy something to do the job ?

I finished the pattern it came out well I even engineered all the joins for the gl*** then 2 things happened the guy who was going to cast it moved to south africa ?

And another guy told me that if I could get under a certain height I wouldn't need wipers so when I was in the states I bought the socal screen to avoid the h***le of wipers which we have to have 70% of the screen swept by 2 speeds
Turns out he was wrong so now I have even less gl*** area to play with

I put my wiper moter in a carson style top so it comes off with the top. Leaves the windshield with no stuff on it. Can the speeds be slow and slower? I have a Speedway wiper in my car and it is pretty slow. I put in a JC Whitney speed control when I built the car. Turned on the wiper and it ran nice and slow. Tried to speed it up and found out that was already on fast. Consider a three position switch with a resister on one line. Slow and slower.Good luck.

My old '32 roadster had 2 speed BMC cable type wipers mounted through the cowl.

It had some angled aluminium bosses to hold the wiper posts at the correct angle for the screen. Looking at the Socal screen, it is at more of an angle than mine was, so it should work better.

Once you have got your WOF, you could remove the wiper arms and and put some machined covers over the wiper posts ?

I use a clamp on motor. I store it under the seat. I have a wire rolled up under the dash, so I can plug it in. The funny thing is that it doesn't fit on the windshield when I have my top up! If the cops want to see my wipers and give me a 5 day ticket, I can put it on and get it inspected. If it is raining out I use RAIN-X !!!
