Looking to convert a column shift to the floor. The truck is a 1970 Ford 100. Would love to hear all the advice I can get. Thanks!!

Please consider using a hurst P/U shifter kit.

I bought an ebay 3-speed kit for my '80 C/10. It has a the long straight with a slight bend up top chrome handle and then decided to install an old Compe***ion + with fubared handle on it's mount. I just cut both chrome handles off and drilled two holes to put the new handle on my 4-speed shifter

A lot of trouble and time but it's fine. Biggest h***le is cutting the hole in the floor board and making sure the chrome stick will shift in all gears without hitting the bottom of the dash or the top corner of the seat at full forward.

    Double check all this.

I also bought three new levers and a steel lever bushing kit with the "coil-spring curly-Q" locks to tighten everything up.

Why not find a trans. from an early F100 floor shift model? Might be easier in the long run.....

The Hurst 3 speed shifter kit is easy enough to install if you buy the whole kit.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HUU-5010016/ Will give you the parts number and you may find a better price with a bit of hunting with the Hurst part number.

The biggest h***le is getting the hole for the shifter in exactly the right spot.

I don't remember seeing a Ford truck with a three speed floor shifter after the early 50's so that probably won't work.

That's why I suggested getting the trans from a donor, then you can take the floor plate too:)

Definatly an option. Asking all the questions I can before I have the sparks heading in the wrong direction.
