This past Friday my car club held it's monthly poker run. It starts at 6 pm with the departure and finish at a local grocery store. I was running late and almost decided not to go. By the time I got there all the cars were out on the run. So I just parked, ate hot dogs, and waited for them to come in. After the prize money was handed out some of us hung around for a few minutes talking hot rods. A gent we had never met came up. Said he was on a mission to get some Oreo cookies for his wife. Saw the cars and decided to take a short detour through the parking lot. Told us he had a 32 Ford coupe once. Sold it when he went in the Army in 1962. Sold everything he said except one spare part. His intention was to build another hot rod around it but it never happened. I asked him if he was interested in selling. He quoted a price and I said OK. Picked the part up today. His wife said she thought he would never let it go. I'm glad he did.
To damn good for my Tupperware roadster and I have something special in the works for the coupe. The grille shell is my first deliberate acquisition for Project X. At this point, Project X is simply an excuse to keep parts that I should sell and buy parts that I really don't need right now.
