We look forward to being there with the K.S. Pittman 1933 Willys AA/GS coupe we will be match racing Fred Bear in his all steel 1940 Willys coupe as part of our King of Kings AA/GS show..! K.S.'s celebration of life tour...

    From my website:

Pirrone & Ellershaw racing is proud to announce that it will team up with the S&S Race Team to run the King of Kings AA/GS show..a celebration of K.S. Pittmans life. The blown g***ers of the early sixties were the grandfathers to today's Pro Mod cl***. Back in the 1960's, the AA/Gas Supercharged cars were the fastest and quickest cars with doors. K.S. was the winning-est driver in that time period. In 1965 he held every record possible, including, the NHRA, AHRA and the STD 1320 ***les.
K.S. was recognized as one of the best drivers in the country and was one the very first touring professionals. K.S. would crisscross the country match racing the biggest names in drag racing, names like Stone Woods and Cook, Big John Mazmania, Jack Merkel and Jim Oddy. In 1967 he built one of the first fibergl*** 33 Willys and recorded the very first "8" second p*** ever run by a car with doors on gas!
K.S. p***ed away earlier this year, but his memory will live forever. The Pirrone & Ellershaw race team did a very accurate recreation of the beautiful Willys and will tour the country doing exhibition match races with other period correct AA/GS cars. I made it there on saturday and took Charlie Fishback who was confined to a wheelchair, it was a great show. Charlie got to see his old car (one of the Bob Banning 'Bounty Hunters') make some p***es. Everywhere i looked was a famous person just being there for an afternoon of racing - Tom Sneeden was just sitting in the stands; ****ie Estavez sitting in the shade chitchatting; Rocky Perrone helping to tune a compe***ors car in the boiling heat; Bunny Burkette strolling about just being herself; Johnny Roca being as crazy with a microphone as a steering wheel in his hands. Gene and Margie Altizer, Freddie Bear...what can i say, it was a great afternoon with great people.
Here's the difference. A weekago friday we crashed and totaled our top sportsman and people finger pointed, controversies have started, threads on websites are ablaze and everybody has an opinion. Had we crashed racing against the calibre of the above people there is little doubt in my mind that they would have dropped what they were doing and would've been thrashing and burning the midnight oil helping us fix the car and become compe***ive again.
These folks have the true spirit that makes racing so great, compe***ors all, but have a mind set that we rarely see at the track nowadays. Thanks for being there, oj
