    Trade.
Easy enough to fix what's not right, (unless you aren't mechanically inclined..???) ,,,
    ,,, since it has a clear Model A ***le(Presumably) What's the VIN?

trade, if that's what you want to work on.. C10's are fairly common, if you need a truck to use just grab a cheap s10 or ranger and work on the A. It's a basket case but it can be fixed. he want's out of it bad see if you can get some of the left overs from his work. Sell them here on the board.

It's Pa not a lot of metal old survives here. Mess around to much and I'll grab it..:) What do you want to work on? Like stated above both need work. You only live once if you screwed up , so what, it's only money....that paper is only worthless if ya don't use it..

If you trade I'll have take out my big cyberstick and whack you over the head. The axle welded to the frame thing would worry me. I've seen way too many hillbilly hackrods where the builder thought that bolts were optional and welded everything. A friend of mine had a dune buggy where just about everything was welded. The steering box was even welded to the frame  I also had a Dodge truck some guy tried hot rodding where he welded the clutch swing to the bell housing. I've seen a few others too, but suffice to say when you see that type of workmanship it usually is only the tip of the turdberg of the bad workmanship you'll uncover. That car is worth about 800 bucks.

Yeah, I'd do that deal too. I'd probably even do the $1000 deal. You said you only valued your pickup at $2000.

Especially if it's a clear ***le.

That model A can be blown apart and build into something cool.

Not cool enough for a straight trade, though.

Get as much cash outta him as you can...he really wants your truck and probably realizes what a **** job....he has on his hands...you are gonna find some surprises in that thing...I'll bet on it....or sell your truck and we can help you find a nice rust free project...I am always willing to help find something out here in the rust free state of Colorado..

  11. I have been in this same situation and the best thing to do is tell him you are not interested. Honestly it is way more work to fix that ****py r** rod up then to build one from scratch. If I could get that r** rod for $1,000 I would not do it! Believe me that is one unsafe p.o.s. that should not be on the road. Drive your C10 it's nice and if you find something else then sell it and get that. This guy is also desperate because he just called you and now wants to give you a $1,000 and that **** rod. Pretty soon it will be $2,000 and that **** rod. Don't do it! R** rods are for ***s!

    Just curious,
did you find out the VIN configuration? Original Model A numbers, ***igned VIN, KitCar, or otherwise?

I ask that yeasterday. I was told its a penna ***le for a model a open pickup? The truck has a home made frame. Hmmmm That may be a problem. I would bet that 1000 bucks there is no numbers on the the model a that tie it to the numbers on the ***le.

Bboy, you're probably right that the ***le has no connection to the car. Also, if the rear is welded to the frame, god knows what else has been butchered. Ugly welds, no penetration, bad engineering. Run away and block his number on your phone. You'd have to cut the whole car apart and start over just to be safe.
