Thought it would be a cool post huh? I dont know how OT this will be considering what they're striped on but i guess striping is striping. Well i started striping about 3 weeks ago, i had all the stuff just sitting around for months, i tried it a while back but used the wrong thinner and well the paint never dried. I decided to give it another shot this time and started practicing on bottles, yes i like to make my life harder than it has to be. I've been trying my hand at a few small jobs for friends and friends of friends. Let me know what you think and if you have any advise please throw it at me, good or bad it's how we all learn!
Thanks guys, for those that don't know me i'm a tattoo artist so a steady hand is required for my everyday job along with the eye for art.
Great pinstriping....I wish I could do HALF that good.... I need a good tattoo artist again....mine is no longer on the planet
Awesome work! Looks like you're ready to open up shop. I've seen guys that can't stripe half as good as you charging big $$'s to lay down some lines.
I knew there had to be a reason everything looked so good only after three weeks. Good balance and good looking lines.
Hang out your shingle..."Skin, Cars, Bikes". You're there both in appreciation of simplicity AND complexity and lots never get that!
Sorry FADED but it's true. I pulled a few practice lines about 8 months ago when i first purchased my supplies, moved and packed my stuff away. Didn't even think about them until a few weeks ago. My boss pushed me to do it more after i striped a few bottles and a box for him, he let me go to town on the walls of the shop and it took off from there. I will also say that since the shop is slow i had LOTS of practice time at work. Thanks for all the kind words everyone, i'm no where near perfect, just trying to figure it all out. I will say this, striping inside with the ac on is way different than outside, whew that was a quick learning experience!!!
Man if this is what you can do in 3 weeks, i cant wait to see fridays art show. Inkmunky i think you should get on the pinheadlounge.... Thats some great work mate!, keep that brush flowing..
You know when you've been playing guitar for 20+ years and do a pretty decent job of holding tune and rhythm...then you hear about some guy on the radio ripping it up to find out he's 17? Anyhow, the striping looks good and I'm sure your day job helps out a ton. Keep striping anything/everything. My pinstriper buddy just finished pinstriping the baseboards in his house because he was running out of things in the house to pinstripe.
