Tire size on front T12.5 70015 Rear Tire size 275 60 R15 Please help ID and if anyone has a Value of what they are worth, I dont need them. Thanks ahead.
Yes Weld Wheel made these wheels in the 70s-80s. during the resto-rod era but most people didn't think they looked enough like Ford wheels with the heavy welded spokes. They are 50 footers to my eye.
I remembered a car in Kansas City in the 80's that had those same wheels painted yellow. I looked here to see if you were from that area..sure enough. The car I remembered was a sectioned 55 Buick, by Dave Stuckey, finished by Doug Thompson and owned by John Povenmire. I doubt you have that car, but I'll bet those were the same wheels. Anyway, the Weld Wires were kind of a knockoff of the rare and desirable Buick Skylark wheels. But the Weldwheels' thick spokes were where they missed the mark.
I had a set in the early 80's they are made by weld wheel. They called them star wires. the oval lug hole took an off set washer that you could change from a 4.5 to 4.75 to 5.00 bolt partern depending on the washer used. They are strong I beat the **** out off a set for a few years and never had a problem
They seem very strong/heavy. Whats a good asking price on them? Any Idea they are for sale. Never owened a 50's car but these were on a 29 A Coupe.
I've seen them go anywhere from $150 to $1000 a set depending on how good the chrome was. Seeing as those have been painted, I have no idea.
could have been from the time when cragar owned weld , back in the late 80's .....neat setup other than the temp space saver tires.....
here are pics of a set i have that came on a car i picked up. they are weld star wires, have both 5 on 4 3/4 and 5 on 4 1/2 bolt patterns. they are 15X7's. need the caps re-chromed but, would be a nice driver set of wheels on something.....just not my cup of tea.
Weld Wire Wheels out of the '70's-early '80's, made in Kansas City Area with uni-lugs. I think they are like mine that are on my Avatar. It's hard to get beyond the Chrome Yellow paint. firstnomad
