Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 345 DeSoto, Jun 30, 2010.

  1. Can anybody Post a part number for Fel-Pro Perma Torque head gaskets for the 276-291 DeSoto Hemi? Or for that matter, ANY Fel-Pro head gasket part number, for the same engine(s)? Be DAMNED if I can find anything on the Web!...:(

You are taking of the BLUE ones, Yes ?

    I Have a Fel Pro # 7672 & a Victor # 1108, But they arent the Blue ones.

They are Both Metel on both sides with Composit centers.

Good question! I blew two sets of head gaskets before I realized I was using the wrong ones. Apparently I had the smaller 276-291 gaskets. My bore is 3.84". This put the seal ring into the bore far enough that it wouldn't seal. I even tore the motor down and had it decked again thinking it was a rough deck surface. Turns out the gaskets were too small. Another thing to think of, if you're going with stiffer valve springs, get your rocker arms magged. The first time I fired it up a piece of rocker arm went flying across the room. It was obvious that it was cracked for a long time. Bill
