[ QUOTE ] It won't go away if you keep bringing it back. AGAIN! [/ QUOTE ] I was thinkin' the same thing! HRP
Question - what are those wheels off of? And, I like it, to me it's an exaggeration that has artistic value, similar to Dali's art. Now where did I put my meds?
Anyone who builds a car that gets this much attention has done something right. I can only dream. And yes, I too like it.
What percentage of cars that get started will get finished and driven? Here is a car that was built and driven by a young HAMBer...I like that. It is an exercise in lowness...I like that too. Some of the proportions on the car itself are not pleasing to my eye, but that doesn't matter... I really do not understand what all this excitement is all about. Edit. I would like for the next guy who will start a thread about this coupe, to post some pics of the car he has built from scratch first...
[ QUOTE ] I really do not understand what all this excitement is all about. [/ QUOTE ] It's about the wheels Shine built for his truck... It's about Rudy's doors getting painted over... It's about that infamous lowrider "'el Mosquito"... It's about the Barbie bike... It's about Germ on a tricycle... It's about Ngo Long Dong and *****s the clown... It's about the velocity of an unladen swallow... This is the HAMB We're never afraid to pull the pin on the Holy Handgrenade. Is it real, or is it Memorex? Only your hairdresser knows for sure.
[ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Edit. I would like for the next guy who will start a thread about this coupe, to post some pics of the car he has built from scratch first... [/ QUOTE ] that would be nice
I think it's sorta cool in a surreal, cartoony, Ed Roth meets Frankenstein sort of way- not that I'd want to cram my *** in it and ride 300 miles without stretching. Yeah, it's too damn radical to be practical [then again, since when is any hot rod practical?], and yeah some of the proportions are off, but I do dig that a young guy dreamed the thing up, went through with building it, and drove it.
I still like it. Not real practical, but neither is a Ferrari. Any car that gets this much reaction out of people good or bad is a success. Still, it'll go away when it quits getting rediscovered
Yeah... new rule: You can't even ****ing think about this car while on the HAMB till you post a picture of a car that you built FIRST. I got my finger on the delete ****on and a sick grin on my face...
Goddamit draglinks, you photoshopped some artificial lowness into El Giraffe, show it's real height. FWIW, I think THE most despised car on the HAMB had to be the "Ford with it's *** end cut off." It never did get a name. It's still around and Rob's driven the wheels off of it.
it was called the polecat heres el mosquito and if you dont know the name your new to the HAMB game. and yes your lame
[ QUOTE ] Yeah... new rule: You can't even ****ing think about this car while on the HAMB till you post a picture of a car that you built FIRST. I got my finger on the delete ****on and a sick grin on my face... [/ QUOTE ] How many pictures do I need to post? One for each comment? Cool, I'll be a while then! Just kidding. I don't think all of the comments are directly pointed at the car... ...Goofy but OK car...Lame ***, creepy, slimy current owner who creeped me out even more at the SF show. I won't go into it, but there are a TON of us out here who were NOT impressed. If you want some examples you'll have to email me or something. It's not worth pooping on our parade to discuss it here. The puzzling thing is that he has some amazing and talented people around him like a cult leader or something. To those people...he needs you way more than you need him. Think about it. Please stop bringing this **** and his car up on here.
I think the worst was the high rise camaro mud bogger ol' what's his name had. I always liked the *****er. It had soul. It was what it was, no excuses. Almost cried when it went away.
did you ever take the el mosiquito 'mudding'?? Does it have 4-wheel drive?? building hot rods sure looks like fun!
[ QUOTE ] How many pictures do I need to post? One for each comment? [/ QUOTE ] Just one will be OK for now... ( but you forgot to post it ) [ QUOTE ] I don't think all of the comments are directly pointed at the car... [/ QUOTE ] You are probably right, keeping the drama alive has gotten more important than the car itself. And I think that somebody that has bult his own Frame, set up the Suspension , mounted the Body, took care of the rust, dents and chopped it, plumbed and wired it, will be more open to somebody else's style of building... Even if it is very different from his own style of building, he might be more able to agree to disagree than somebody that hasn't...

While I did not do every molecule of bodywork, I did do much of the chop, body welding, all the suspension, motor, trans and everything else but interior and gl***. There are multiple HAMBers driving cars I built from scratch including AntiChrysler and one who runs a frame of mine. Anyway, I hope that having to complete every single speck of work on one's ride does not become a prerequisite to speak on the HAMB because there will be about five members here who would be able to post. Maybe that's a good thing. I agree though, that someone who's been there will be a little more open minded when it comes to other people's creations because they have seen what it takes to go from vision to reality and have experienced the experimentation necessary to get from one to the other. Oh yeah, here's one...
Here's another, AntiChrysler's. I'm about 85% responsible for it. Does that count? I hope this all is taken in the light hearted manner in which it is intended.
This most talked about car would cheat the 'wind' at the Salt Flat's quite nicely. Add a nose when you get there and fly. C'mon Jeem, Brush, or lurker-in-da-shadow's. Do a number on this car.
[ QUOTE ] Anyway, I hope that having to complete every single speck of work on one's ride does not become a prerequisite to speak on the HAMB [/ QUOTE ] No, it doesn't have to become a prerequisite. But if somebody is going to rip someone else's ride apart, it is only fair that he offers up his own, for the same treatment... ( not that you did, but you gave me the opportunity to say what I wanted to say...) Very nice car BTW, KIRK...
Me and Outlaw could almost live inside that car. It would be like driving a tall T coupe for us. Remember...little guys rule the WORLD!!! love, monkey
The Mosquito brings a tear to the eye... And blood to the nose. And for old-time's sake... How far could a Swallow fly carrying a coconut? HIJACK!!!
[ QUOTE ] But if somebody is going to rip someone else's ride apart, it is only fair that he offers up his own, for the same treatment... [/ QUOTE ] Well said.

Remember...little guys rule the WORLD!!! love, monkey [/ QUOTE ] This is true-especially when they drive huge Chevys I dig it, but I also liked The Defribrilator(?) and that jacked up rod would be cool if it had extra bouncy springs and kinda danced when you drove it ala 'Roger Rabbit" I also get first dibs on painting an 'Erik Estrada as an Aztec warrior' mural on the back of that car without a back window I'll go back to my paint and cough syrup now

[ QUOTE ] I did that in another post a month or so ago.... [/ QUOTE ] Was it that long ago ? Time flies.
