Any Info on the MERC from GREASE?

Bill Papke, who sells Merc and Ford shoebox parts, owns it.

 

Here's what it looked like last week.

 

Bill's restoring it back to the way it looked in the movie. He told me there was actually two Mercs used in the movie. If you pay attention,one has wind-wings and the other one doesn't. I guess one was a convertable and the other one was a Coupe with the roof cut off.

Hey....where have you been Icebox? Did you ever get your Merc back together?

 

Bill has a black 51 2dr for sell. It's pictured on the rack in the back ground . It looks real solid and original. I think he is asking $15000 ,, Im not sure of any details. I'll take a close look at it if he has it next time .

I've been working on and selling ALL my other cars . I'm making some real progress ,, getting rid of stuff and making some money so I can concentrate on my Merc. I'm getting ready to build a flathead for it !

 

If ya look close in the movie, USED CARS, you can see one of em in the junkyard behind the dealership.

 

Love that movie. Caught it last night on TV.
