Hi All from Wilmington, NC. I'm Ed McCormick. Been interested in cars since five years of age. A neighbor had a '32 De Soto roadster I took a liking to. At that young age I was afraid the reason the tires were so fat, (General Jumbos) was because they had too much pressure and might blow out. When I finally got to be a teen I told him I'd like to buy it when he wanted to sell. Had more hope than money. A year or two later in 1953, he gave it to me. Drove it to school. When the original 6 gave up, didn't have money to rebuild it so I put a junk yard flat head Ford V8 in it. After the army, I commuted 70 miles a day to work. With a 4.62 rear, parkway driving was tough so I put in a Lincoln 2 speed rear. When the wood body frame rotted so the doors wouldn't stay closed, I took it off the road. Now in retirement I'm restoring it. Finished my '33 De Soto restoration two years ago. Drag raced a '50 Ford and a Morgan roadster. Built and raced dirt oval flat head Fords, then small block and later big block Chevs. Still have my last race car flat head engine. Still enjoy cars
