Just for the week but have the T on a tow dolly so I can drive it around back at the ol stomping grounds. I'll be heading the way of Erie, Cleveland, Columbus, Indy over into Ill. and south on I-57 towards Memphis before catching hwy 60 in Mo. home.
So if you see me on the side of the road please stop, testing out the new rear axle repair don't ya know. Hopefully nothing will happen and I'll just cruise right along.

Cool car and you'll go right past my house if you go through Poplar Bluff Mo. I'm hauling a 64 Polara 500 to Michigan and buying a 57 Ford wagon there to bring back. I'll be on the road all day Saturday but will be back by Sunday morning if you need anything. My number is 573-778-2679. Enjoy the trip and I'll look for you along the way.......Ed

Well I made it to Dexter, with only a couple minor problems. The rear held up just fine but the license plate was only hanging by a thread by the time I hit Ill. Thanks to some p***erby's they let me know the wind had folded the plate over and ripped it through except for about a 1/4 inch. Another ten miles and my plate topper would have been history.
Other than that the heat is crazy hot compared to NY, been taking the car out for late evening runs, we'd die for that kind of cruising weather up there. The locals seem to like the car and keep getting lots of compliments.
My computer access is not great but will be leaving around Thursday night or Friday morning trying to beat the rain. Thanks to the guys that offered their numbers if I ran into trouble, that was good of ya.

  16. If you are going to be in Dexter for the rest of the week consider bringing your T to Jonesboro, AR next Saturday. The North East Arkansas Street Rod ***ociation is holding their annual show at Craighead Forrest Park. Nice drive down. Good event. PM me if you want more info.

No, without doors it would be a lift in/out deal, I don't think she would handle that to good nor my back(I have a bad back, not that my mom is big). She doesn't take the heat so well either, likes her a.c. but she has no problem bragging about me bringing it down...lol

It looks like it might be on a car dolly on the way back too. I had talked to a trailer manf. about a trailer before I left, said they should be done by Tues or Wed.
I called today to ask about progress and they said maybe next week, that ****s because it was another reason for coming down. Now I'm beating the want adds to see what's available in my last couple days here.

We we're wondering how you got the bucket down there, since JD has Al's in his back yard. What did you do rent a U-Haul tow dolly? JD is planning on draging the roadster to Dunkin Donuts fo the Open Wheel night on Sunday, if you make it back in time.

  21. Hey, that's near my home town Poplar Bluff, MO. :)

If you need any help with anything give my old man a call. PM me for the # if you need it. He'd also probably be happy to show you all his projects. (31 Roadster, 28 Sedan Delivery, 66 Mustang, My 29 in my Avatar, his racecar, and various other artifacts in his shops)

I'm in Poplar Bluff, how much longer will you be in Dexter? My brother lives over there. I'd love to check you roadster out.

Good to know I think I'm free this Saturday. Might run down there for a little while.

  24. You know 'Call of the Wild' turned into a strip club...lol. I remember going in there as a kid to see all the animals and ****. Now that I know it's a strip club I have these images of ******* dancers grinding against the stuffed bears. LOL

Its is a very small world, that never ceases to amaze me.

Mr. Jones I have ran into your dad on several occasions. Bill Scheerer is good friend of mine.

  26. Ha! Wondered if you knew him or not.

I've known Bill since I was like 9 yrs old probably. Great guy!

Do you all know any Bill West? That's my brother and actually my Dad's name is Billie...but goes by Bill. Both are ex truckers that worked for Rowe Furniture and Steel haulers and such. Both are re-tired and live about 3 miles down 160 from the Call of the Wild strippers.

Found a trailer, bought a new open 16 + 2 dovetail today. Other than running out of time to see everyone that I wanted to see, life is good again.

Nice to meet you this afternoon. Thanks for letting check out your killer little roadster, hope mine turns out half that nice.

Also meant to ask what steering box you used.
