I'm on my way to a doctor's appointment this morning, so I don't have much time for my daily post. I made a quick search through my head looking for subjects we haven't covered all that thoroughly in the past and landed on Bob Tattersfield's Streamin...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Beautiful tank. That maybe Wally Parks strapping on the Helmet Lou Baney is standing behind him. another pic it may not be Wally after all??
Jimmy, I couldn't find any reference to Wally ever driving the car... But it sure looks like him in the pic. When I get to the office today, I'll do some more research and see what I can find.
Beautiful car. Interesting steering in the second pic. It appears to be a cross arm to the LH spindle originating from inside the tank.
I've seen the pic somewhere in a book can't think where though, from memory the bloke who is smoking was also mentioned in the caption. I remembered this from the "Hot Rod Handbook" (Fawcett book 129) Check the engine shot it is of the Tattersfield's '47 Ford. There is a great article in TRJ #11.
I find it interesting that he used Buffalo snap ring wheels. Those are T era pieces, and it's surprising to see them on a car that ran near 150 in the late 40's.
@Ryan - Great Blog/thread ... on one of my favorite "Show & Go!" Dry Lakes cars. ... and as I like to say, "a thread can never have enough pics" ... so here's some more of the Tattersfield belly tank: NOTE: All of these images were posted by Jay Fitzhugh (@J. Fitzhugh) in the Tattersfield History thread ... they are photographs that didn't make it into the TRJ #11 article. EDIT: Doh! ... looks like @kurtis beat me to posting these while I was still resizing the pics
hubba hubba! Interesting that the tanker is sporting some dirt track tires. This must have been before square edged tires were banned from the salt? EDIT - it does look like it is sporting Firestone Indy tires in the photo on the salt...
Don't know if the tailfin aided stability or not, but I think it adds a more finished look. What do ya'll think? Have a great and safe fourth of July,Cat
is this what NORWELL IS TRYING TO DO NOW http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5382378#post5382378 CAN SOMEONE ID THAT ROADSTERS BUMPER
Colleen Townsend ('40s & '50s movie actress) did that publicity shoot with the Tattersfield tank. Here's a pic of Miss Townsend ... before she got all of her "period correct" tats! : ... and another pic of Colleen with the 1948 Hot Rod Exposition "Giveaway Deuce Roadster":
The first picture in your series has a display in the background of the Porter Mufflers Mfg. Co. How cool to see that! I love all the pics here of the tank cars!
