my Uncle was telling that they restore your stock gauges and what have you and i just wanted to know if anyone has used them or knows anyone that has. or if you know of any other shops that do this sort of thing. thanks a lot.
I had them restore the instrument cluster in my Shoebox about seven years ago. Very nice work, very expensive (like $800), very slow (many months -- I think they are now backlogged over a year). I don't know of anybody else who offers the same range of services.
i talked to them two months ago about redoing the gauges for a `40 ford coupe i'm working on...they told me $1200 and 6 month wait...then i talled to Cl***ic Instrument and they told me $2000 and 6-8 week wait..i was then recogmended a place in Albuqueque New Mexico called Moma...i was told $1200 and 3-4 week wait....it's now two months and no gauges
Hey 36, why didn't you try APT in Bloomington? I've had stuff done there with good luck. Have you had experience with them?
no, i have never heard of them...thanks,i'll keep them in mind for future projects.. the only re***on i'm using this MoMa is the owner of the car found them,
Ive used United and they ****, wont bother with them again. I just used Moma in Albuquerce(?) for a capillary tube repair and they were great, cheap and FAST.
APT is at gaugeguys.com I have had old Stewart-Warners restored, rescreened, or just calibrated with them before. They weren't fast (it took months), but I was happy with the work.
I recommend running non-working/broken gauges and spending 800-2000 bucks on an engine or another car! Tim MBL
We have some very nice gentlemen who are very good about letting me no how fast I'm going up here in the northwest... so I don't bother with a working speedometer
