I posted a thread of my adventure picking up this Hemi and related parts amidst a tornado and hail storm.

Today I had the opportunity to mock up the truck, continue sorting parts seeing what I have and what I need.

Heres a pic. I am thinking of using a 47 Ford passenger car front bumper, and splash pan (not pictured). let me know what you guys think.

I have two themes in mind. 60's gold, medium whitewalls, chrome steelies and white firewall and white and black interior, or a subtle original ford truck green with Cast center Americans, or steelies. again let me know what you think.

I gotta get this cleaned up. I think I will relocate the filter too.

Heres a pic of the Hemi. I Need to order a few accessories. Today I sold the 396 on Craigslist, Took a brand new Lakewood scattershield in trade. I need to find an adaptor, and a good Super T-10.

I think most anything you do with that truck will look cool. Very nice truck.

Thanks, I think I might study the "little pages" for some ideas.

I think you have nailed it with the gold idea. Love the truck.

I vote for the original Ford green and either choice of wheels. Can't screw up either way. Do what makes you happy...

Nice little pickup. A friend of mine has one like yours and he has a 33/34 Ford passenger car front bumper on his and I think that it looks pretty good gives a
little character. On your 34 "that thing got a hemi in it ?" good luck with that and was wondering what has been done to it ? It looks fairly fresh and I missed your other post.

  10. We've had a lot of the same ideas. I considered going gold as well. I've always thought one white with the grille painted gold as well as the interior with a white tuck and roll seat would look nice. Mines too clapped out to ever get to look nice, and I don't feel like taking it apart for a color change. I'm going to go with the original color and Milner style chrome wheels with either black piecrusts or thin whites...haven't totally settled yet but it's a driver. Good luck!

    Hey,
The hemi has a fresh lower end, stock pistons, fully balanced, solid cam, BBC intake valves and 427 Exhaust, New rocker shaft assys. I have the BBC water pump kit. I need a valley pan, aluminum valve covers, distributor, water cross over etc. Should be a good little motor.
    Did you sell your coupe???
    Thanks
    Eric

I finished mocking up the box today. Tomorrow I'll weld everything up. The rear is actually a little too low. I raised it up an 1.5" with a Jack and it looks better. I will have to add some springs back (it seems a little soft anyway)

Stopped by a local hot rodders shop that has some Hemi stuff. We did some trading and I ended up with these Mickey Thompson Valve Covers and breathers.....This is starting to shape up!

Got the box sides plug welded to the Horkey Subframe this weekend, and plug welded one missing stake pocket. Need to pull the box to weld on the front panel. I think I will replace the lower front fender pieces with stock pieces.
