Through some shrewd wheeling and dealing earlier today, I ended up with this cherry Ford Fairlane. This has been my wife's dream car, and she's a happy lady tonite! Basically...I traded and old TIG welder I never use for it. Rad.

It's as clean as they come minus some paint blemishes and a couple insignificant dings. Its an original 3 speed 260 v8 car with all the tasty trim and even A/C! The motor is in the trunk disassembled. Plans are to freshen it up, give it a nice stance, throw some decent tires on it, lose the moon caps, and paint the roof.

very nice fairlane. i am a mopar fan for the most part, but i have a closet love for some early 60's ford stuff. i would give my left nut for a really decent 61 starliner. great find there.

That is a very good looking car. I've always liked the Fairlanes, stock, rod or custom they look good.

    Very nice car.

Isn't that a 1963? Look at the grille and side trim and I thought that roof was first offered in 63. Either way it is so cool and a great color combo. Drive it hard !!!

Yes, that's a '63. My uncle had a '62 for years. Either way, very cool.

You forgot to mention the part about it having Black Plates!
If the first letter is an "A"(that's what it looks like in the pic),they could very well be the Original plates to the car.

Black plates with yellow letters and numbers were first issued in 1963 per the CA DMV. Sweet car by the way, clean too.

Mmmm cragars with some small ass pinner whites, and some stupid crazy but understated and subtle lowrider style paint on the roof. That didnt make sense but I know what I mean.
    I can feel this one.
    Nice 63

Now i cant find the pics that i was lookin for, prolly cause of the hard disk that is gone MIA:(.
Anyway, theres a couple intresting ones on here, one is a Coffin Cheaters ride, green w/ crazy paneled roof, not the best ive seen but over all a sweet car, w/ a tube grille rollin on Supremes.
The otherone again a 63 (a Merc) its the 4dor green one w/ bellflower pipes w/ that crazy cantileverd bag set up.
Both ntresting and inspiring for such a project.

PS pics are just 2 random on my puter, not the 2 im talkin about.

Friend of mine in HS back in '71 had a red '63 Fairline 500 2 dr. Hdtp with black interior. The 260 had been replaced with a 289 and it had a Hurst shifter on the original 3 speed. The front bumper was bent so he took it off. It had 14 X 5 chrome reverses on the front and baby moons and trim rings on black steel on the back. I was 14 at the time and thought it was just about the baddest thing on 4 wheels. I still think it was a cool looking car to this day.

Just wondering for the cost of rebuilding that 260 you might pick up a later roller cam 302....Just food for thought
