  2. This one did it for me when I spotted it on the cover of Hot Rod. Lloyd Bakan's coupe hooked me when I was in Grade Two!!

I've never seen this car in the flesh, and I don't know anything about it (except that it's a Delage), but even the picture makes me tremble:

I don't want to sound cheesy, but two that do it for me are already mine. :D I worked a long time to get them, and I'm happy. Not to say there's no inspiration, that would be photo #3.

hahaha. Thats funny. That car is like a mirror!
I am not in the 1940 club, I was the designated drinker and rode with a friend. I dont really remember anyone taking photos of this car, this photo is borrowed from another post on it here on the HAMB. It was a bit further along in the build when we saw it. but it does in fact take your breath away.

I was able to see this (and some of Ralph's other cars) at the place it was stored a couple years ago. WOW.

Thank you for posting that! That car so outclassed everything else at that show. The paint was the deepest blue I'd ever seen. (40 coats of candy blue lacquer)
It's style still holds up today 46 years later. I've got photos of how it was revised a couple years later, but they're really hard to look at. It got caught in the "let's gook it up" era of the late 60's

  28. When I open my garage....or did your mean take my breath away in a good way?

Yes, actually, there was a big red '52 Caddy convert cruzin' in N. St. Paul on friday I lusted after......
