I know I might catch **** for this but, has anybody bought the mustang II steel dropped spindles from SPEEDWAY MOTORS ?How is the quality, do they need any additional machining for stock calipers and are the USA made? I called their tech line and didnt really get a decent answer so ... I do realize that this suspension is not traditional but I think someone here has the info that I seek. Thanks in advance, Mike.

I haven't dealt much with the mustang II parts but I know I got a junk pair of their "good" shackles for my 37 and they did nothing about it! The shackle end broke about 10 mins after I put them on and their junk hardend plastic bushings cracked. They said it was installer error, so I bought a set from pete and jakes and no problems since. Just be careful... I have purchased their disc brake conversion also and that worked great so just check the **** out. Im sure someone on here has used them even though they are not traditional. Good luck

if they are not made by some one he stole the "real deal" from and out sourced it to china or some where else you might stand a chance..

you can ask them country of origin..if they balk or say they dont know..its because they dont want to tell you they are junk..

Yea, I asked them if they were made in U.S.A. or overseas and they told me that they were supplied by 3 different companys, one of which is supposidly HIEDTS. Never got a straight answer on where they actually come from. One thing I dont understand is if Hiedts sells their spindles for 319.00 how can Speedway sell them for 169.00 . Smells kinda fishy to me. Thanks for the input so far guys. Mike

chances are..for 169..you aint getting Hiedts..your getting the afterbirth of him sending a Hiedts to china for them to re-pop.

would really like to hear the response if you pressured them into only sending you the hiedts for that price..see if they back pedal..or what

Von, it's been a long time since I have bought anything from Bill. I really hate to buy from him after reading posts about the degraded quality of his stuff and the amount of Chinese **** he is now peddaling. I'm going to try what you said and see if they will infact ship Hiedts spindles for that price, if not , Bill's not getting my buisness. It's a real shame these days that you cant save money with-out getting **** quality product. Thanks, Mike.

Just helped my buddy Andy put a set on his 36.......yes they are made in china, like most of the junk they sell. The calipers fit ok, but the stock brake hoses won't work without serious grinding for clearance. Hope this helps....

I'll be interested to know what you end up with, and how they work out. I'll probably be in the market in the next few months. All depends on how it sits when we mock it up ('36 Ford p/u).

It's unfortunate, but the quality of their stuff Has gone down the drain. I have stopped buying anything from them.

Whatever you do, do not buy the Speedway control arms. The lower one has a propritery bushing the Speedway will not supply. They crack and crumble. The upper arms have bushings that can be replaced after they disintegrate.

How has that situation changed since the beginning of time? "you get what you pay for"........usually, but rarely get more than you pay for.

The other old axiom "there is no such thing as free lunch" also applies.

If you, or any of us, want quality parts we need to be prepared to pay what quality costs. There is no shortcut.
