Hillbilly, for today thats not a bad deal,A lot of the resto stuff is now available but it will hurt for a while. You will want to look at the rear fender sheet metal just below the rear side windows. If the rear frame support just inward of the fender well is gone there will be a small tear at that point. If so the rear sheetmetal has sagged and you will either need lots of cash or time, but it will be worth it! I'm so envious,Dan.

I wouldn't be too bummed about the 340 horse 409. It's a good torque motor. I'd put the Powerglide in a corner and swap in an overdrive automatic. A set of Rader 5-spokes with narrow whites and you're the king of the drive-in 1963. Lots of aftermarket support for those cars.

Im definatly going with some sort of spoke rims, and some good 1" white walls. Final paint scheme is going to be a high gloss black with a white pearl lid. I really dont have much lee way on the color. My father said the car HAS to be black, because thats what my uncle wanted the car to be. See, my uncle bought a black '63 409 in 1963. Then ended up selling it when he got back from Viet Nam. I gotta respect his wishes.

As far as drivetrain mods go, i'll leave it stock untill i actually know how it drives.

That's some good thinking. A mild warm over on the 340HP, a built 200-4R in place of the PG and 3.73 posi and you'd have a nice driver that you could take anywhere, anytime but could back up the 409 badges. I like the Pearl White over black, especially with whitewalls.

nice score! Ditch the Glide like others have said and rebuild the 09 motor with a few modern upgrades and performance parts and have yourself a great car
