Man , I tohught it was already finished in the first pics , that was the way I woulda rolled in it , looked just fine , but , I'm sure it will be alot more suited for the board with shiny new paint and all....
Well since Cory is related to the King Of All Rat Rodders Chris, I am sure he is at home weeping, as the thought of putting paint on his car is sacrilegious to the Swensons. See there at the Swenson compound they believe if it doesn't go on with a brush it's Eastern Mysticism black magic. And they don't have any part of it. If you don't believe me take a look at Chris or hotrod-40's collection. It's almost scary how much patina runs through their ****. Hahahaha!!!!! Nice looking Truck Kevin!!! Congrats!! I can't wait to see it done, everything from your Sedan to the '34 has been personal favorites of mine. They all have so much style it's ridiculous. Cory, you and you brother are awesome and I love you style too. Evne the **** with Tunnel Rams and spiderwebs.
Looked good before but will be bad *** soon!!! Beautiful Metal work!!! Where are you getting the Awesome Patch panels?
The patch panels are pretty good quality... but like anything else its up to you to make them fit well. Most of the problems are at character lines, bends etc. The dies just aren't as exact as ol' Henry's. That said, I'm pretty happy with the overall quality and they are available @ http://www.northerncl***ictrucks.com/index.htm Great to deal with, good folks!
I just love it in the first photo, I would drive it forever just like that. I do admit, your work is well done, looking for the finished product. YES YES YES.....
Damn nice looking work. What are the plans for the back of the cab? Why replace just the bottom and leave all the swiss cheese there?
The swiss cheese will be replaced... As i said earlier in the post, I need to build some structure in to the cab first. Im getting the lower portion shored up, establishing mount locations etc. Once its all solid, I'll go after that panel.
Another update... I final fitted the Rt. side rocker, and got it completely welded. The rocker panel welded and A-pillar repair located and tacked... I didnt weld it out just yet, I want to trial fit the door and check hinge location. Confirming door gap, hinge location, and trial fit of lower A-pillar mount.
Another update of sorts... I have been pressing on with sheetmetal and will soon have some more pictures for y'all. However, I have a spare 8BA engine. This particular powerplant met an early demise at the hands of a large pothole. The oilpan was har****ed at speed and oil pressure rapidly ceased...result, spun bearings. I thought I would give it the once over and see if It could be saved. I have 2 cranks: 4.00 Merc and 3.75 stroke Ford. I'll be using the Ford as its only been turned .010/.010. I'll be saving the Merc for a stroker project. A quick clean-up of the .060 over block...I was too lazy to remove the valves just yet. I wanted to be sure there weren't too many cracks, before progressing with valvetrain dis***embly. Magnaflux process I found 4 very minor cracks..here is an example. I'll continue with teardown/cleanup and report soon!
Getting harder to find a perfect flathead block with no cracks... Very nice metal work on the cab Kev....
