Just fitted some new rear wheel wells and quarter panels to my 34. I got these parts from Donny Smart, I,m sure he must have sneaked into my shop and took measurements off my car because all his stuff fits. Donny,s stuff is top notch gear and he,s great to deal with too , I,m in the U.K. So finding this stuff isn,t easy over here ( still looking for a passenger side door) I got a long way to go yet but thanks to Donny I,m getting there, like I said before I wish I knew about this stuff when I needed subrails and a floor.
Your car is looking good, Garry. Yeah, Don's pieces are first rate. His quarter panel pieces have the correct contour to fit as though they were cut from an original quarter panel. He offers them in 20 inch tall versions, as well as the entire flank of the quarter panel. I'm using his floorpan (complete with subrails) and quarter panel patches in my '34 5 window, as well. My doors need the bottoms replaced. I'm certain that his door skins will fit just as well as the other pieces. A couple of years ago, I photographed a pair of cabriolet doors that he made (the only original Ford pieces used in making the doors was the original beltline sections from the original doors). The doors were beautiful.
Thanks for posting guys. I'm sure that Don appreciates the good heads up on his products. With so much off shore crap floating around it's nice to know when a particular product is "right" and fits the way it should. Frank
In looking at your first pic the rear portion of the wheel well looks curved where it meets the vertical. On coupes this area should be at 90 degrees for about the rear 1/3 of the well. Sedans use different fenders and are curved in this area. Are those sedan wells?
Looking good old fella, For those that don't know this body was like a tea bag when Garry got it, Still needs a lot of work but its certainly getting there, will be an awesome car when done.
