Hey guy's I'm going to be converting my car over to 12 volt in the very near future. The previous owner diabled the blower switch on the heater controls and added a new switch mounted to the bottom of the dash. I belive this was done because the switch in the heater controls is no longer working.

I would like to remove the heater controls to clean and test the blower switch but I can't seem to get the controls out. I've unhooked the control cables and have taken the knobs off the control slides and have removed the support bracket that is bolted to the bottom but it's still a no go.

Does anyone know how the heater controls are mounted. Or more specifically what else could be holding it in. thanks in advance.

2 screws threw the bottom of the dash going up, then the not so obvious nuts on the back side, if i remember right you have to unbolt the nuts from the heater control bezel . theyre on the back side above the controler on top side, real hard to see untill you get it apart then its pretty easy. theyre may be 1 or 2 more nuts on the back side after you get the bezel off but i think its just the bezel that sanwiches everything together, sorry its been a while since i did this, but you just have to look up there real good. youl find the blower switch is just a 2 way toggle operated by the lever , real basic.

Thanks choptop. I think I might just pull the seat so I can get my head up in there.

Got the controls from my 54 if you need them - running vintage air now - also have a 12v blower.

Thanks for the offer edljames. I've got the blower motor but I'll let you know if I need the controls.

pullin the seat really helps , probably dont need to change the motor, usaually electric motors do fine with more juice, its low voltage that kills em, but beware of brittle old wiring, good way to have a fire
