Thanks for the great picture previews Poverty! I'll be heading that way in the morning, looks like another great weather day. I take it for granted how great that show and swap is since it's so close to us, been going since I was 12.

    Nice to finally meet ya.

Jake is my buddys name, his hamb name is miserywhip, hes a newby still

Heres my hall from Iola, we were gonna stay for friday but i spent all my money, yesterday i called it my under $20 dollar day, most of the little trinket stuff i bought was under $20 bucks by far, and most of the little gauges and stuff were $5 or less, the blue metalic wheel i paid up for cauyse its nos and damn nice and the back larger wheel was $40 and it came with a mounting adaptor to early for and its very nice too with 5 holes, so its kinda odd. also picked up a very cool blue streak adjustable voltage regulator, over all had an awsome time

Then I saw this little cutie (possibly some Hamber's daughter) and I was impressed that she was driving a Model T down the road all by herself. <center>

Then my pal "bandit Bobwop" and I went to the car corral and we walked thru the hundreds of cars until he fond a nice clean low mileage 49 Olds sedan from Montana that had a rocket V8 and hydramatic in it. He was able to get it bought. Here is a photo of Lawrence, me, and "bandit Bobwop" at my swap meet space.<center>

All that walking made us hungry so Bob and I went to find some food and settled on the grilled chicken dinners that Iola is famous for and some homemade milkshakes. Yum.<center>

Then my good friends father and son Dick and Eric Husting from Port Washington, WI showed up and sat with us in the late afternoon and we had fun talking with them. Later, I closed up shop and we went into the village of Iola downtown and ate a nice supper with them. Of course I had fish since I was in WI and it was Friday night. <center>

what a great day for me! Met up with Tom from Kent's Big Bars at 4AM and enjoyed the ride up in his gorgeous fully-restored 62 Newport. Parked right next to the tower in the show car area.

Met up with PF and Lawrence and headed out. Found a real nice 49 Olds sedan with 53k miles. Montana car and super solid. What a honey.

Bought some trinkets, hung around the Flats, ate with Paul, BSed with some HAMBers.

Went back to the car corral. Phone rang. Sold the Olds for a modest profit.

But get this...I had to drive it home. What a great way to end a perfect day. The better part of three hours cruising at (above) freeway speeds with a Rocket V8 performing to perfection. I wish I could keep this car, but how many toys can a guy have?

Besides, it costs money to provide those hungry Kansas fellows a feast like that!

Bob, I am glad you sold that car already. Good deal. Now get ready for more company because we are heading 3 hours south to your place tomorrow afternoon and we WILL be hungry. Is there any pie left?
