As an aside, what some of you might not realize is that the Swiss have probably purchased more US made cars than any other European country. I remember being totally surprised by the number of BIG 3 cars in Switzerland when I visited there back in the 70's. Normally, when you travel thru Europe all you see are Euro cars... then, boom, you drop in on the Swiss and there are literally thousands of US made cars all over the place. Not just here and there, but daily drivers. I don't know if it is the same these days, but it's certainly no wonder these guys are crazy for our old cars, too. Gary

  4. This is still true. Maybe there aren't as many american cars around here anymore as in the 1970s, but there are still a lot of various makes on the road. The reason is that Switzerland doesn't have an automotive industry like Germany, Italy or France. So, the swiss always had a bit more of a freedom of choice.

Another interesting thing is that from the 1930s to the early 1970s, several american car companies assembled cars in Switzerland. Yes, there were swiss-built Chevys and Chryslers: www.swisscarregister.ch/en/a_montage.html

Lowtech nice job on the pics, and wow what scenery. Love the pan shots of the cars in action. That's the way I like to shoot 'em.
