to the hamb that is!!! heres what i had to observe last week, 7am in morning. after all the years owned, i had no emotional feelings for it as it rolled down the road to someone else's garage. heres the new one. in its new home. yes its rather tight!!! yes it will be modified, but just juice brakes, engine upgrade(simple 4pot), panhard rod on front nothing too serious had enough(and lifes too short) of sitting at the sideline watching. some of you with a good memory might remember this car from another member on here. it belonged to jonny69 a few years ago. actualy it has the original rear axle from my old pop, given to jonny when he broke his. cheers chris.
I would like to have a original one and can count on one hand how many stock versions I have seen through the years,I was looking at 54 early this week and cant believe how primitive they are compared to our cars of that era. Hope you have many years of enjoyment with it,I know what you mean as I spent many years working on my projects while everone else was driving theirs but still tinkering even though I have a few that are togather I still am dragging home projects.
been let down on headlight bulbs so not on the street yet. been cleaning bits on pop, some parts of paint work just won't shine due to being touched up with by the looks of it a 2" brush!!! and taking the natural patina away! fitted the bonnet tape on one side, i'd bought this ages ago for old pop, this one did'nt have any. before fitting. the pile of rusty metal on the left are the old rivets with new shiny brass ones on the right. this is the bonnet tape. here it is fitted. looks better and hopefully will stop the bonnet from rattling. heres my helper, checking out pop then making himself at home!!!
When I had brown hair and was 30# lighter I lived is Sydney Austraila area and owned one like yours it was my daily driver. Great little car's. Wish I still had it. What's involved to convert to hydrolic brakes?
hi, wheel cylinders can be fitted to stock back plates with a small amount of fabrication. master cylinder is a different story, i'm looking into fitting one using stock pedal assembly. chris.
Great car, I spent my early teen years crammed into the back of a 1948 Angila street rod my pops owned. The cloth covered, wooden back seat, sandwiched between the roll bar is responsible for my stunted growth! LOL I would have to say out of all his cars, that one was my favorite. Of course the radical little SBC might have had something to do with that!
hi, well the pop went in for MOT(roadworthiness check in uk) this afternoon. here it is at the testing station. here it is outside before taking for test. it passed the test. got lots of attention when driving around the town!!! cheers chris.
hi bill, yes it seems to work ok, there a heater element in the metal box which the water passes through then the fan pushes heat through pipe into cabin. cheers chris.
I take it you found the headlamp bulb Chris? I have two used ones here from my Austin that I didn't toss out when I converted mine to 12v. halogen. Got a straight axle, rearend, and some front/rear springs left over too!
