wheel paint question, pic request

i'm painting the 15x10s on my 55 gloss black this week. i feel like i really want to add a white "pie slice" on them. this is mostly because i think it looks cool, but i'm sure there was a good reason this was done "back in the day". so any info on the subject matter, or pics with what i'm lookin for on a 55 would be sweet.

i know i've seen like a million pics of what i'm lookin for but i can't seem to find "the pic" i want to give to my painter. yeah search nazis, i searched.

How about for an outside observer, crew, to be able to determine excessive wheel spin at launch.

 

It was used to see if the wheel turned inside the tire on launch,they shortly went to screwing the wheel to the slicks,Dan

 

Never have seen a "pie slice" on those types of wheels...only saw them on steelies.

the rears are steelies.
