A neighbor has a 62 Fairlane Sports Coupe. Two door post with buckets and a console. Not for sale at this time. Has a bad engine but he has a 302 rebuilt to install.

  2. Cool looking ride.

All of you guys with wives that dig the car hobby don't know how lucky you are. My wife puts up with my hobby, but doesn't like the cars at all and it's like pulling teeth to get her to take one of the cars when we go out.

If the rest of the car is original, I'd keep the original motor. Maybe get it spruced up with some stronger internals and a stroker crank to give it a bit more low end torque. I'm sure you can get some reasonable numbers out of that little v8 and it's just going to be a street cruiser anyway.

Nice! Good man for keepin the wife happy. I just met a guy who transplanted a 5.0 into one. The harness and FI actually didn't look to nasty and he's claiming to get 22-25 mpg out of it. Don't know how much your lady drives but might makes sense for ya. Either way, can't wait to see what ya do with it. Keep us posted!

I can dig it. All it takes on some cars is just stance..... are you gonna get crazy and metal flake // lace // panel the top or just a nice red?

  7. I say make this one a g***er too and then you and the wifey could drag race each other around town for control of the TV remote!

Very Nice 63 Fairlane! Yours looks to be pretty straight and complete might have a few extra items if you need some parts. Have a 63 Fairlane that am rebuilding is the old g***er style drag car.

Damn ... I hate these threads that remind me of neat cars I don't have, especially when I have 2 cars, a truck, a motorcycle, only a 2-car garage, and live in an HOA!
