Oh Crap! Ford C4 question.

In the process of putting my T Roadster together and was shortening the spedo drive cable when.....I forgot to put the retainter clip on the plastic spedo gear and of course...it fell off into the tranmission tailhousing. Pulling the rear housing means unbolting a ton of*****...which of course I would rather avoid. I've tried to look at some exploded view diagrams of a C4, and from what i can make out there isnt real danger of the plastic gear getting into the rest of the trans. Can i risk leaving it in there or do i have to pull the housing off and dig it out?

 

Remove the cursing from you thread****le and the gear can stay in.

 

Its in the tail shaft i doubt that it will cause any problems probably just lay under the govenor
