simple wheel adaptors come to mind

  4. 80's model C-10 gives you 5 lug and disk.

    Pick-n-pull parts. Mine is a 72 going in a 64

There are aftermarket axles if your attached to the Rearend.

I think the change over year was '71 to 5 lug on the 1/2 ton with disc brakes. I know 72's have the 5 on 5 pattern.

I think your right, my 71 3/4 ton has 8 lug, thats what I hate..talk about lack of wheel choices..

easiest way is to get a set up off a 71.72 truck..

  9. Thats what I did, but the 72 axle's are different lengths from the 68 373 posi that I run now. [IMG]
So i'm still 6 lug out back, for now.

Of course you can change the whole rearend, but I want to keep the good gears and posi in the narrower rear.

what you need is a set of axles from a 5 lug 70..same length as your 68

  12. I tried the 5 lug 72 axles and they don't fit.

Are you saying 70's are different than 72's?

I know there are aftermarket axles that run $300+ [IMG]

    I'm a tight *******. [IMG]

70 is still 6 lug. 71 was the first yr for 5 lug. Take your axles to a machine shop and have them redrilled. $75 was the going rate the last I checked. Use the newer drums, or have yours drilled when they do the axles.
