Has anyone checked the April 1969 edition of Car Craft? According to the cover it has Winter Drags Coverage:

Have you found the magazine article. Talked to G***er Louie this weekend, the tension car has been restored in to a show car. I saw the pictures of the 3 cars you posted on a display board at the World of Wheels show in Omaha this past March beside the Tension car. I know I have the magazine the article is in. If I remember correctly, the article was named flashback look at 55-57 Chevys. I have too many magazines to search threw. If I see the Tension car, I`ll ask the owner for info. Or maybe sombody from Omaha can do it sooner.

  6. Already found the magazine a while back... That wasn't me with the pics on the board, never been out that way. Was the Tension car restored or the Good In-Tension car? I know the latter was restored to a stock '57 and sold. I'm looking for what happened to the white tension car. Thanks,
    -Dean

All I know is at the World of Wheels show in Omaha Nebraska, The pic of the 3 57 `s you posted on on page number 1, post number 1 was on a display board in front of a 57 Chevy 2-dr hardtop. there was also a pic of a 57 goin down a dragstrip. So I`m guess`in it`s one of those cars or has direct ties to it.

  8. The original builder/owner of the Tension car lives in Omaha, he displays the pics of it and his old rebels car club jacket, but unfortunately hes a complete *****! I tryed talking to him about it and obviously Im not in the In crowd or not in his FINANCIAL group of friends, HE IS NOT WHAT I CONSIDER A "car guy" IF HE CANT TALK ABOUT HIS OWN OLD CAR TO SOMEONE WHO ASKS ABOUT IT, after he takes the time to frame a picture of it and display it at a World of Wheels show! He could probably give lots of info on "The Inbomber" but, hes to ****in GOOD to give any old info out to someone other than an old raisin head friend!

  9. I know who you are talking about then! He is the one person who I have not personally spoken with yet on the matter. The white '57 you saw on display is a Bel Air hardtop and has no direct ties to the original Tension or Patrick Bros. Teams, just a street rod that he now owns.

Did you ever get the info you were looking for on the white Tension car? If not, I know where it is now...it's in the hands of a guy in Denison, Iowa, and it's being restored to it's as-raced appearance. I've tried with little success, to get info on that car by searching the H.A.M.B. I saw it run at the Sioux City drag strip in the mid 60's when I was a high school kid, and it made a huge impression on me.
