Hi - I'm 42 years old and have a passion for vintage Tin. I tend to collect more rides than complete due to time constraints and cash flow. Just check out my Bio. I've been cruis'in the HAMB as a guest for a few years now when I had my 38 P6. Currently working on a 48 Torpedo Sport Coupe for next weeks Jamborie. It runs, drives and stops but I need to get it street worthy enough as not to upset the local law enforcement. I'm interested to learning some old skool tricks to get more out of those flat sixes and 12v conversion stuff. I also hope to share some of my knowledge and information with you all as well. Thanks in advance............
Here's a pic of my daily driver. It's a 68 Chevelle 4dr Hardtop often referred to as a 4dr sport. they only made about 16K in 1968. Saved this one from the crusher as a parts car and decided it was too solid to strip. I know its not traditional, but it is unique. It got quite a bit of interest at last weeks Hot Rod Riot full of Rat Rods and Kustoms. When all the windows are down it looks like a stretched coupe. It's getting ready to receive a 454 donor engine compliments of a 86 Suburban State Police Cruiser.
I bought it up in the Northwest Hills of CT back in 2005. I'm the 3rd owner. All those pastel green 40's cars look a like.
Welcome from the West Coast of Florida. About 20 years ago I also lived in Connecticut and raced at Thompson Speedway which I think is up near Vernon if my memory is right. Hope you enjoy the site and all the great advice. Jimbo
Welcome to the HAMB. I was one of the guys checking out your Chevelle this past weekend. Ill keep a look out for your Torpedo. Cheers Matt
It's going to be at the Haddam Neck Fairgrounds, 6 Quarry Brook Rd. Check out: www.junkpilejamboree.com
I hope I can still make it with at least one of the cars. I may work the morning and the Torpedo needs a little help in order to make it out to Haddam Neck.
