friend of mine is giving me a 58 international pickup that's taking up some wanted space on his property, says it "ran when it was parked" , it's free , but i've never evean set eyes on it .. what's powering it? what kinda dificulty am i goin to have finding parts and such? i have a 46, but i rodded it and sold the running gear like an idiot but i was 19 and stupid.. so it's excusable. it's suposed to be solid.
does any one here know anything about internationals ? other than they have wheels and go forward? lol
You might have a little more luck on an International Truck message board, we're all about Hot Rods and Kustoms here! Good luck with your "thirteen letter manure spreader"!
my 46 has a turbocharged packard strait 8 , i WAS going to see if the strait 6 in the 58 was worth building and if my Frankland quick change rearend in it , but i guess you gringos got a hatred of good trucks and working with what you got. pitty your all so closed minded and fearfull of someone who's BETTER than you.
Don't sweat it brother. We are all here to have fun and enjoy our rides and other peoples too. Throw your parts at it and make it fun and make it yours!!
Relax dude, there's no hatred, just a suggestion to help you get more replies to your questions, and get over yourself, you're no "better" than anyone else.
Why are you so quick to dismiss this guy and his truck? If my memory serves me, there have been a couple cool International build threads recently. The HAMB police are getting a little out of control lately.
I didn't mean to dismiss the guy, I offered a ****ing suggestion where he might find more info. Excuse the **** outta me!! "Thirteen letter manure spreader" is a term of endearment for Internationals, sorry it came off mean-spirited.
Too much drama....again. Old trucks are cool. I don't know anything about the IH's, but go get it, build it, and have a blast with it. And post pix of your build, so I can get more edumacated.
wow, getting bent outta shape pretty quick,he was suggesting that an international site is going to have all your inquiries as far as what it is equipped with and parts availability.
How dare you be all closed minded while trying to help someone! Oh and Jake, do you have file dedicated to Oprah on your computer? I do have to admit you got some funny stuff right there.
that is one sweet truck! Is that a 900 model? I have a 63 900 that turned into a pretty cool shop truck. F-1s and 1st and second gen chevies are nice... I just got rid of one, but you just don't see too many cool IH trucks, but they are out there and are just as cool as the fords and chevies. Bottom line is it's your truck, build what YOU want. My style might not fit what others like, but I am happy with it.Here is a little inspiration........
