Alright, I'm torn into my stock 50 dodge brakes. I ordered new cylinders all around. The place I ordered the cylinders from said the cylinders are right and left, which doesn't make sense to me. The rear has uppers and lowers, but the front it seems like it shouldn't matter front right of left. You aren't flipping them over, you're just rotating them 180 degrees on axis. Does this make sense, or am I missing something? Thanks HAMB!
I'm thinkin the brake shoe tab (where it contacts the wheel cylinder piston} is slightly different front to rear and matches up to a groove on each end of the piston. Subtle difference and I'm not sure if it matters much.
It is possible that the cylinders are stepped bore cylinders, which would definitely be handed. Large bore to the front, please. Cosmo
If they are center plane breaks, yes, all 4 are different. Left Right Top and Bottom. It has to do with the lines inside the drum, Bleeder location, and how they contact the shoes.
