I've had a whole flock of those 'Birds...the '55-'57 were too shallow, '58-'60 too 'cosmopolitan'.
But the '61-'63 were real george! Dropped my white '61, added '56 Lincoln Premiere caps...narrow whites, and I had San Jose reeling! (this was in '63)
I still love those bullet-nosed Birds!
Hey...Nice '59, I'd do another one...get a $49 haircut...Dean Martin 'Cy DeVore long collar white shirt, open collar...red sport coat, pair of black Continentals...Johnny Walker shoes...And drive up real fast, opening the drivers door and swinging away that steering wheel. Step out, and straighten up...Oh yeah!

I'm knee-deep in a '62 Sport Roadster right now. Bought it from an estate sale in December. The registration tags were from August 1972. All the mechanical is done. The interior is at the upholsterer's than off to paint. I'll get some pics up here.

OK. Here's my '59 coupe. Minus the roof, and 2" of w/s posts. Top is removable, and I'm debating cutting the top bows ('64 'Bird) and having a folding top as well.

Had a 58 with a 430....shoulda kept it (where have I heard that before?)

I like 'em- always thought I'd lighten one up....really lighten it, then put a SOHC in it...see how much fun it would be.

Obviously never got around to it....good luck with your new project.

I have a AMT model kit of a '62... The box art shows a pic of a real red '62 with a front license plate that reads BIRD DR. So who is the 'Bird Doctor??? Anyone know???

The first car I drove over 100 mph was my Dad's '63 T-bird. I love the '63s, especially! I do not like the side trim or the grilles on the '61 and '62 cars, though. The '63 is really the only 'Bird that gets my blood going! If I could find a white '63 with black top and red interior, I'd be on it!
