Why are 58 Fords underrepresented ?Are guys holding on to them ,or are they particularly scarce ? maybe they were a derby favorite ,who knows ?
I guess people look at them as the ******* sons of 57's (which aren't represented very well IMHO). When I got my 57 it was a toss-up with a 58 Custom 300. The 58 had an FE and I wanted a Y-block so I went with the 57. I have seen 58's in the last 2 shows I've gone to. A retractable at one and an absolutly beautiful Courier yesterday at MIS. Made me want to go back and get the 58.

Back in the early 70s my Dad had a 58 Ranchero. Today I see many 57 Rancheros but I've yet to see a 58 and I feel the 58 Rancheros are better looking than the 57s because of the quad headlights and hoodscoop. On the other hand, while I like the 58 front on the cars, I don't like the taillights. To me, a 58 Ford car with the 57 taillights is perfect.
Because they are **** ugly. I have a 58 convertible that I bought to convert to a 57 because 57s are beautiful and 58s are awful.My 2¢
I love my 58 ford. I think 58 fords look better than the 57. They do rot bad around the front headlights.
Not beautiful, but they have an aggressive look to them- especially without the grille bar. I dig my '58 Ranchero. Even tho it looks like a Thunderbird's dumb but dangerous brother... And when it had Keystones on it, it looked a little like the Batmobile. Maybe it's what Batman would drive to Home Depot, but I guess Alfred would do that though. Gotta think about that...
