anyone been to Kool Deadwood Nights?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Everett, Jun 18, 2010.

  1. I was up in Deadwood South Dakota last year and heard about a car show they have in town every year. It seemed pretty cool from the pics I saw and have been tossing the idea around of taking the model a up there. does anyone have any info on the show? is it worth the drive and money to go up there? thanks for any help.

A good time. Cheap beer and great entertainment this year - the Platters and Sha Na Na. Lots of cool cars. There is information on activities if you do a web search. I say go - you will have fun. Crusin' through the Black Hills is also a good time. There are also other entertainers and bands and they are all free.

The thing I didnt like about it is that they dont have a big enough parking area for all the cars to be in one spot. So everyone is driving here and there to see all the cars, and well you dont see everyone because they are moving around. Oh yeah and I wasn't old enough to gamble yet. Otherwise neat show potentially

In a sense I have to agree with GG. On the other hand the fluidity of the whole scene gives an impromptu feeling where there are cars popping in and out and there's something to see and do everywhere you go. As opposed to one big show area where you walk around in a "car lot".

  5. thanks for the info. i remember driving into the black hills in a rental car and realizing exactly why bikers have shown up here for years to ride. it was a euphoric feeling driving through there and all i thought was i need to bring the model a up here. the steep prices for rooms and all the money for gas to get up there is kind of making me second guess going. i do like the fact that it is not like the typical "car lot" show like u mentioned geezerkat. thanks again guys.

  6. It blows AND ****s at the same time. Unless you are my dads age, 60s and like the same rehashed clone 60s bands ..........**** it, I dont wanna go into any more detail.

  7. If you are driving that far go to the HAMB Drags in Joplin MO, I ran that direction many years instead of the cheesy show in Deadwood.

  8. Its on "My Cl***ic Car" next week....I just saw the preview of it on the end of this weeks episode
